10 Things I do everyday to take care of my body and mind!

I found out 10 years back that If I am really serious about slowing down MD and taking care of my respiratory and mental health, I have to put in the effort. I have since incorporated a series of steps that has helped me stay stress free, positive, calm, peaceful, flexible, and energetic. I hope you will find these steps helpful as well. This steps will not only help with better managing NMD (Neuro Muscular Diseases) but will also ensure you are protected against many other unrelated health challenges that may come such as weight gain, diabetes, chronic inflammation, impaired lung function, impaired digestion, constipation, auto-immune issues, stress and anxiety.

My 10 Tips to improve physical and mental health:

  1. Eat a nutrient rich diet daily (Lots of colorful fruits & vegetables)

  2. Increase your energy levels by daily practicing few minutes of SKY breathing exercise

  3. Keep stress to a minimum by practicing few minutes of "Sahaj Samadhi" meditation

  4. Moving your body daily through few minutes of yoga or other physical exercises

  5. Getting enough fresh air and sunlight daily

  6. Standing barefoot on the grass for 10 minutes and taking long slow deep breaths

  7. Cold shower to start the day. You can also do warm first and than end with few seconds of cold.

  8. Be a part of a health group who will support and uplift you

  9. Spend a minimum of 10 - 15 minutes every day to motivate / inspire others

  10. Most importantly, practice being happy and content :) Know that true happiness and joy do resides within us and sometimes gets hidden with stress. It begins to clear when we start taking good care of our physical and mental health.
